Mega-Amazon

I’m all for easy shopping. I was flabbergasted recently though to see the sheer diversity of purchases that Amazon.com offers. It ranges from books to music to furniture to yes, even adult entertainment. It got me wondering if that was such a good idea after all. I mean, yes it does make it easier when you can click to one particular website and find all the things you are looking for, but it also eliminates the fun part of hunting for just the right item through a range of stores. Plus, such mega-vendors tend to shirk on quality and offer more cheap items in bulk and on sale that higher quality tailored items. I think that it would be a disservice to only shop online at these huge vendors, especially for specialized fun toys like adult videos, books, or instruments. For those I think it would be in our best interest to keep giving business to those places who have always sold a great variety of items. While those tend to be on the more pricy side, I think the quality and diversity far justifies the hike in dollar spent over the more assembly-line type of mass produced item.
